Wish Engagement Executive - 12 Month Contract

Make-A-Wish® Australia makes wishes come true for critically ill kids, building resilience and complementing medical treatment. We’re working hard to make sure that in future, every single child battling serious illness can experience a vital wish journey.

We have an amazing opportunity to join the dedicated team as a Wish Engagement Executive – Regional Lead for NSW & ACT (12 month contract role), based in Richmond HQ. You will be responsible for managing the wish discovery process, liaising with families and volunteers and be the main point of contact throughout the whole wish journey. Along with this, you will be identifying opportunities for volunteer training, creating and delivering volunteer training.

This is an exciting and important role within the Wish Team, who make the magic happen every day! Working closely with internal and external stakeholders daily, you will be working across the NSW/ACT region, notifying branches when a new wish comes in and work with them, the family, doctors and social workers to help discover the wish.

What a role! Your empathetic and compassionate nature will be on show as you will be dealing with difficult and emotional conversations, as will you strong organisational and creative approach.

You will be supporting the team in dealing with difficult and highly emotional conversations as well identifying and delivering training opportunities for volunteers. You will bring with you, your strong stakeholder management and customer centric focus, as well as your collaborative and supportive style.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Manage the wish discovery process; ensuring wish families and volunteers are engaged and supported through the whole journey end-to-end
  • Champion Child Safety policies, ensuring adoption and adherence
  • Assist with the creation and delivery of training for the Make-A-Wish volunteer network
  • Notify branches when wishes come in and working closely with a variety of stakeholders to help discover the wish, create brief on wishes and work collaboratively with the Design team
  • Identify training needs for volunteers and create and deliver training to volunteers, both remotely and face-to-face
